8N 3 hole rocker top mount

So I just purchased a 1950 8N and I am trying to get everything squared away with it. I need to get a few parts for the 3 point. I need to get. I have a question about the Part number 8N-486-B
Pin hydraulic lift yoke. is it a solid pin or is it hollow and something else solid needs to go through it. I have the 3 position yoke and it has a thin metal sleeve through the yoke but that does not seem sufficient to me. My friends tractor is an earlier model and he has a long pin that extends from both outside holes on the differential through his lift yoke and everything although his yoke is only one position. I am also needing to get some other parts like the drawbar stays, drawbar, center link, and sway control bars. Where is the best place to get these parts I figure shipping costs are going to kill me on these parts since they are going to be pretty heavy I imagine? Thanks for the help.

Everything is as it should be. Early 8N's had the single hole rocker with the hollow sleeve and the long pin connecting the outer ears to the rocker pivot. In later years Ford went to the triple rocker and did away with the pin (which never was used for much anyway). I have seen a solid pin instead of the hollow sleeve in some tractors, but the sleeve will work just fine.

As for the parts, eBay is one source. But be careful, some sellers think their parts are made of gold. Tractor Supply and other farm stores carry the new parts as well. They may not look exactly like original, but will serve the same function. There are also plenty of online stores, including this site. Shop around. All that stuff should be had for around $100.

Rescie6.........the later 3-hole rocker used a SOLID pin (bar?) secured with cotter keys. The "hollow" pin was fer the jingle-jangle bars that supported some virgins of sickle-bar mowers. There was a very LONG pin went all the way thru the hollow pin and into BOTH diffy ears. You hadda take one of yer FENDERS off to stick the LONG pin all the way thru both ears. There is a "folding" version of the LONG pin that was designed/sold with the later Ferguson TO-20? TE-30? TE-135?

Sometimes the 11-hole drawbar was necessary kept at same height so you could BACK-UP a wagon into the barn or corn crib. Remember, the 3-point lift is hydraulic UP and GRAVITY down. There is NO power down 'cuz you'd LIFT yer rear tires and Oooops NO TRACTION!!! (giggle)

ALL these parts and bars are sold by our SPONSOR, Yesterdays Tractors. It's GOOD to support yer sponsor, eh? ........Dell

Lot of good places to get parts you need. Shop around. But as Dell
said of sponsor here should have what you need. And it is good to
support the sponsor. But an even better reason is unless they have
changed since my last order, Been awhile, they have a set shipping
rate here. If I remember right it is $8. You wont beat that. Figure
out every thing you need and order it all at one time.
