in 1960 when I was 11 my parents and I visited the Dearborn museum. I still have vivid memories of the machinery there especially the tractors and motorcycles.

Have seen that at the museum. In 2003 Marv Baumann and I tried to borrow that for our Southeast Mich. Antique Tractor and Engine show held a Nike Park in Monroe County, Mich. We were featuring Ford tractors that year, FMCs 100th anniversary. (It also happened to be my 50th year with my '51 8N, "Nellybelle")
The curator agreed to crate it, load it on my trailer, let us display it for 3 days and return it Sunday afternoon, after the show. One catch. We had to insure it for $50,000 for 3 days. Insurance cost was prohibitive.

Yes it would have been. I have a picture from that show with me and my '51. I also had/have a life size mannequin of 10 year old Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. For our parade I had that mounted on my v-bar hitch and played the Star Wars theme music. I had a banner on display in my show canopy, "Saving the past for the future".
Memories.

My brother-in-law and I took our boys and their grandfather there for a full day many years ago. There was definitely something for every age there. It was a very memorable day for all - the boys still talk about it.
