The oil fill tube on my 1947 8N (front dizzy) leaks, not when adding oil, but when the tractor is running. The tractor is idling in the pic below, their is oil showing where the tube enters the cast engine.. Any suggestions on a fix?

Seen posts on heaters, mine was plugged in all night. This morning it was 11* and "shehasta" started on 2nd chug with NO choke! I'm impressed!

Pull it out, clean up tube and bore, finish with a rag wet with spray brake cleaner, allow cleaner to dry, then glue tube in with Loctite Sleeve Sealer or an epoxy such as JB Weld.

if the tube is loose, after cleaning like bob said, slip the tube on some round stock and use a flat face hammer and tap on the OD to expand the metal. use that sleeve retainer bob mentined ont he clean surfaces, and then take a pin puncture wound punch and make pricks around the cast boss the tube fits in.. that is 'staking' and expandes the metal for a more interference fit.

if it is crazy loose. braze or silver solder build up the tube before fitting.

I would categorize it as "crazy loose", your advise sounds like a good fix. I'll give it a try. Thanks, soundguy!
