Crack in trainsmission housing

I read the post on crack in engine block.
I had my 9N sandblasted and when I got it back home looked all around it and discovered a crack about 4 incnhed long at the bottom right hand side.I think I have 3 things that I might could do: 1. Weld the crack. 2. Use Epoxy base glue or J.B.Weld. 3. Try to find a used trainsmission case.
2 and 3 may need to remove the gears to apply the Epoxy glue or J.B.Weld. Would appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

If the housing is cracked its probly due to stress applied at one time or another. A real good machine shop should be able to weld it. They will give you no guarantees it won't crack all to ell. You have to heat the surounding metal and weld it with cast rods then pein the weld to stretch it as it cools so it will not crack when the cast cools.

It would depend on were you are at as to the replacement price (a ship'n thang),,, I would replace it and never look back.

Yes replace it if at all possible. Wielding is the last resort... But don't throw the old one away someone might need it. But that will not happen until the day after you throw it away. :)
