Fall chores

We're supposed to be getting a cold blast here next week so I decided it was time to put the toys away for the winter. I just finished a new carryall for my 9N and put it to good use. My yard at my cottage is quite steep and there was lots of stuff that had to come up to the house and garage - fishing boat, kayaks, boat batteries, gas tank, lawn chairs, etc. I also used the tractor to pull my pontoon boat up on shore and then made a 14 mile round trip to another lake to pull a pontoon boat for a buddy from work. I use 5" cedar fence posts as rollers under my boat but my buddy didn't have any so we just skidded his 24' behemoth up the grassy bank. First gear and full throttle was just barely enough.
I should have taken photos of the pontoon boats coming out but I did get these:

Looks like you still have a few leaves left across the lake/river.
Most are bare here now, like the ones I see above your tractor.
Great looking carry all. I have a smaller metal one. They work great!

BTO picked the corn off my place last night. I was going to go
play in the dirt some this evening but they came back and
chisel plowed it tonight. I didn't want to get in their way! LOL

Also looks like your carb overhaul was a good one, with good power for the work it was doing. Ya did good on that one!!! 8)

Looks like a fun place to live, the boat caught my eye
and that gnarly tree is great. My grandpa had a boat
like that and when we went fishing he would get
cranked up every time I moved or baited up with the
worm can and make noise and scare all the fish that were ready to strike his bait just as I made a noise.. To this day I have no idea how to fish in an
aluminum boat and not make noise. Did you road that 9N
14 miles?

Nice place! Looks like you have a sugar maple and a boxelder. Ever tap them for sap?

Started snowing here at about 5AM. Up to about 3" of snow.

Thanks Gary. Not bad for a Zenith I guess but it starts hard, needs full choke until gas drips out. Once it's started it runs great though. I picked up a MS carb that I'm taking to Royse soon for a professional rebuild. Subzero weather is on the way and I need every edge I can get.

That gnarly willow is a great conversation piece. It's a really messy tree but I like it.
I did drive the 9N 14 miles. Maybe 1 mile was paved, the rest was washboard dirt. I might have lost a filling lol. The tractor gets very little use and seems to run a lot better after a workout like that.

Thanks Colin,
There are 5 big sugar maples in the yard and one of my coworkers tapped them last year. I got a couple quarts of syrup with none of the work - such a deal.
How about you keep that snow over there? It's too soon, I still have some fishing to do before the launch ramps freeze up.

That's a great deal on the maple syrup! Who's your friend...he's welcome to stop by and tap my trees!

Over a foot of snow this morning! Enjoy the fishing!
