More Fall Chores

Been racing to get a good start on the firewood for winter of '15-'16. Truck was in the shop for, so I used the nimble Eleanor to haul wood out of the woods. I've cut about 3 cords in the past week. It'll be a bit slower now with heavy snow coming down today and 8"-12" in the forecast.

Humble life style, here.

Property taxes paid for the year.
Winter's supply of heating oil in the tank. PAID
Food pantries FULL
Freezer FULL

Only one more payment for DISH contract and then CANCEL.
Big reduction in electric bill. Only large screen t-v on Sunday afternoons.

Only one vehicle insted of 2. Reduction in Insurance costs.

Financial goals met for the year.

Now for saving $$$$ for next year's TAXES!

Life is good. John,PA Seasonal self-employed.

That looks like the ideal rig for hauling out firewood, especially with that low trailer bed. Less lifting than using a truck I would think.

I had some big blocks to take out of the woods and it really saved my back when using the trailer. The tractor is a lot more nimble in the woods, but the trailer doesn't haul as much as the truck so we spend more time using the truck.

Good for you, John! I have my vices, but TV is not one of them. On most days I'd rather be outside or reading a book (or catching up with my friends here or on Facebook).

Thanks for asking!

Dad and I used the 8N to pull it over to the neighbors about two weeks ago.

I have an engine lined up to replace the damaged engine. This engine was used at the U of MN with a dynometer to test HP. It's owned by the son of a fellow YT forum member, Paul in MN. Hope to pick it up within the next week or so.

I plan to get the tractor running with this replacement engine. Then disassemble the damaged engine until I visually find block damage. If no block damage can be found, I'm going to have the block magnafluxed. Then proceed from there, rebuilding it or keeping it as parts, depending on condition.

Once we get going with the split, I'll post over on the Ford board with progress updates and photos.
