What would a 2N hot mag with the the complete gear drive be worth.

Which model number mag? I have a mag on one of my 8ns that came with the industral engine on it. It is a wico mag. I believe the 2n was a fairbanks morris whivh might be worth more to war time 2n purest.

you selling or buying? Got pictures?

One sold on ebay last night for $102...I sold one last summer and I cant remember what I got for it. It was a Fairbanks with the drive...it didn't have spark.

I would think the drive would probably bring a bit more than the magneto, but one never knows. They may be a bit rare but not all that many people want them so who knows!

install it and run it! I have two 8n and one with a mag and I like the mag better than the side dist.

Pardon me for asking, but what is a "2N hot mag"?

I've been around N's and this Forum for a LONG time, and I can't recall ever seeing that terminology before???

Nice try to bait me Bob. You know exactly what it means, I never heard the term tractor guru before, that you have under your name. Are the titles under ones name given to ones self or is there some kind of test given?

I love mags too. There is a demand from guys like
me and you. they make for easy starts and will
run run and run. I think the drive is hard to
come by. There are even side mounts I think I
have seen them somewhere on here.

Sorry, WW, but I truly had never heard the term "hot mag" used for a simple, stock, tractor mag.

And this site picks your title, based on post count. I had nothing to do with picking the title "tractor guru". You'll have to take that up with Kim!

I see the term used by people selling them on ebay all the time, meaning that they work.

I have a side mount mag for my side mount 8n, but have not taken the time to install it.
