I am going to try and repair my rims. Could someone here give me an accurate measurement of the circumference of the surface that the tire bead mates to? I will need to weld in some metal to this area and I want to cut a piece of wire to the correct length and use that to allow me to get the new metal position properly.
I saw that a person was advertising parts for sale. One picture look to be a set of new tires and nicely painted 32" rims. Or did Ford also make 28" with that style of rim design?

Yes, 'Hat' rims were 32" and 28".

I am out of town. When I get home I will take some pictures and measurements and post them.
 
I tried to measure one by myself and I came up with 101". I also believe that the thickness of the metal in the rim to be.093. I will be taking Tuesday off and intend to buy some metal for the repair.

Might be able to save you some work. I have 'doner' rim that I have cut some pieces out of to repair another rim. Free to someone who can use it. Located in eastern MO.
