Question about PTO on a Ford Golden Jubilee

Hi my name is Joe from Eden, NC.

I have a Ford Golden Jubilee tractor and have had no problems with it until now. Transmission works fine, lift works great but can't get the PTO or PTO lever to engage or work. Don't know what the the problem is or where to start to fix it. It's full of fluid but can't move lever. Does anyone have any answers to this or have run across this problem before?

P.S. Lever has always been tough to engage.

Thanks Joe

Sound like it is time to pull the cover that has the PTO lever and make sure it moves freely in the cover and also have a look see at the slide coupler that engages the PTO and make sure it or the shaft is nice and clean and free of burrs

Sounds like Old has you covered, that's what I would do.
May be a dumb question, but you do know it can only be
engaged with the clutch depressed or engine off, right?
By the way, welcome to the forum!

Yes clutch has to be pushed in to engage it but I don't have turn the engine off. I was hoping not to take it apart but looks like I'll have to.

No, you don't have to turn the engine off, one or the other.
It's not hard to take that side cover off, six bolts around the edge.
Cut your own new gasket or you can order one here on YT.
