231 fuel problems

Well guys I finally got back to work on the 231. Started at the
tank and started tracing fuel. Fuel flowed out of tank line fine
into the lift pump but would not come out of the pump when
I pumped it manually. Bout the new pump for $33.00 and 15
minutes later tractor was running like a champ. Worked it for
an hour and a half to make sure. Life is good again!
Thanks for all the help I sure do appreciate it.

MF 231?

Nice little tractor.

I have a 533, 2007 version of 35. 135, etc., etc.

Basic by todays standards but rugged and economical.

I think the 231 was the replacement for the 2110 LCG.
But I can't determine if you have a gasser with the fuel pump mounted on the front timing cover or if you have a diesel with the Simms inline pump which, unlike the CAV pump, did have a lift pump on the side of it.
But I've never heard of a 3 cylinder diesel with the Simms - other than some very early 3000s.
The 5000s and larger tractors did use the Simms.
So I'm wondering what you might have there.

The Perkins AD152 is a real workhorse and very economical.

My 533 has a Perkins 202. It's turned down quite a bit to limit power and torque to the rating of the single reduction rear axle. The 533 is rated 44 PTO HP and it uses a bit more fuel than the AD152 will.
