Are 8n and NAA steering gear boxes interchangeable?

Need some advice....

I need to change a steering gearbox on my 48 8N. Wanting to go with a later model steering box, I understand in general that they are interchangeable.

I've found a steering box from a Jubilee. It looks pretty similar in hookup, does anyone know if I can interchange a 48 8N gearbox with a Jubilee?

No, I realized I posted it on the other forum by mistake when this one would have been more appropriate in the first place.

I've always in the past found your answers and info helpful, Soundguy. But this time you sound like a jerk.

I'm very disappointed now as I held nothing but respect for you, your knowledge and your willingness to help people.

good for you!

The ford forums are both great for answering ford questions. NAA questions bridge both forums

sorry you woke up feeling bad and got bend out of shape about me asking what you didn't like about the other answers you recieved.

We sometimes see new users that make a post then don't know how to find it again and thus don't get to see the answers, and instead post again thinking they have lost the post, and we will link to it for them.

It's obvious this wasn't your case.. you just wanted to find something to get bent about and be offended.

life is harder when you approach it looking to get offended when others are trying to help you.

have a great day with that naa steering box on your 8n.

I am not new to the forums, just had to reregister. Apparently if you don't post in a year your sign in doesn't work. Mine didn't and I don't blame the admins if they purge old sign-ins from time to time.

I have received very helpful comments on my post in both forums. As I said, you have been helpful to me in the past as well, especially with 3pt questions and fluid changes. I'm just disappointed with your choice to be smartass and forum cop. This would be very off-putting to a new member.

Until today I have always respected your posts and quite frankly, hoped you would have some input for me on the gearbox issue as well.

That has changed. You no longer have my respect.

MD,

I thought for sure you'd point out, that on your Ford forum post, Royse suggested you also post it AGAIN on this N forum.

Royse quote from your initial Ford forum post:

"If you ask this question on the 9N/2N/8N forum here on YT
he (and others) may answer your question directly as well."

Sure I suggested it to him! Not everyone that reads and posts
in the N forum reads and posts on the Ford forum and vice versa.
I figured someone here would give him a straight answer.
After all, it was a yes or no question for someone who knew the answer!

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was very helpful suggestion on your part and a credit to you.

No offense taken, just explaining why I suggested it.
I have not tried to swap them myself, but someone has! :)

Thanks for the help guys and for the information. I just didn't want to drag anyone else into the tiff.

SounDguy's post and responses took me off guard, and well honestly, ------ me off. He's always been very helpful in the past. Don't know why he choose to be this way this time.

I do much appreciate your'alls posts. Have always enjoyed this forum, a wealth of information here on our old tractors.
