No Two Car Garage

Single tractor garage.
I ran out of good weather and it is raining almost every day now.

Saw one of these at my neighbors and it looked like it would accommodate the tractor so I measured it up and voila.

They were on special at our Canadian Tire stores for $149.
The neighbor was going over to the city the next day and said he'd bring one back for me.

It zippers up if there's no attachment.
I added the white tarp for insurance.

Hey, whats the measurement on that? That's a good price. I really need something to cover up my tractors before winter hits.

Hi Tim,

I know how you feel. I ran out of good weather time and my plan to rig up a solid structure and was getting antsy. I was hoping that this might be an idea someone could use . . . simple as it is. . . when I posted.

It is 10' by 10' X 8'
My NAA is 4" longer than an 8N as you probably know.
My 13" tires clear the front zipper flaps by about 2" per side.

The white tarp fly is a slightly better quality than the other cheap poly tarps and it also keeps it bright inside.

Cheers,
T

Edit:
The only aspect of it that was tacky (as in useless) were the four auger-like hold-downs for the corners. So I made up my own steel stakes by bending a crook at the top of the stake that bears down on the leg when the stake is driven down. Any hefty rods preferably ones with eyes work well. The shelter comes with four tie down wires and little cable clamps.

GB in MT. bought one several years ago. Hard winters in his neck of the woods!! How is it holding up Gary?

My FIL bought one of those 5 years ago. It's held up
suprizingly well through some pretty harsh N. IL
winters. I've been impressed with it and I'm
thinking about getting one, also.

bought one thats longer 17 feet from harber freight left the back end off and screwed it to my wood shead now i have a word area 10 foot wide and 33 feet long it,s were i am rebuilding the ford 8n that i bought in september did not put a second cover over it so when the sun comes out it gets nice and warm so i can paint in there need that in utah it was 19 this morning just hope we do not get a lot of snow this winter

WI Dave,
So far all this one has had to withstand were two strong wind storms. heard a loud crack the other night and thought the worst, but it was the top half of an old maple just across the road that had been choked to death with climbing vines. I've been closing it up whenever it's windy so it doesn't go into orbit.

2ruNgineer,
Funny! The shelter may have been cheap but the shipping on the boiler pipe was a killer! :)
There are short cross pipes at the bottom that make it free standing, but I wanted to protect my tires from the sharp edges,
hence the truck tires.

tractorguy2,
I was thinking along those lines too but my 50's Austin A-55's are 13' long. :)

bill gaw,
That's a dynamite idea!
As a warm paint booth too!
If you go away you'll have to make sure someone keeps the snow from piling up on it. That's partly why I put the white fly over it . . . every year we get at least one heavy snow and when it melts a week later, the snow falls from the fir branches with loud thumps. sometimes I use a very long pole to shake the branches I can reach. In BC it rains so much that we'll get a heavy snow and then shortly after the rain adds TONS of water to the melting snow falling from the branches.
One winter the weight of deep wet snow snapped the top 15 feet of a healthy fir clean off and it poked a hole in my roof. I've since felled that leaner of a tree. Came home from town to find water pouring down on my phone and just missing the computer.

BradTN,
If you were in the neighborhood I'd give the little Sedan Delivery to you. It is a 1950 Austin A-50. Right now the back is filled with old GM 4-speed transmission and other assorted heavy spares. A friend of mine, who was the leader of the bands The Collectors and Chilliwack told me I had to leave it right there because it was a work of art. People have stopped to take pictures of the peeling paint. :)

Thanks all,
Terry
