Yep I've been down In the NYC area for last few weeks working with my clients. Actually in Staten Island. By nature I am a HR payroll consultant whereby I set up payroll systems in hospitals.

5 minutes from the hospital that I have been presently working with is the largest Liberian community outside of Liberia. Unknow to anyone yet there is a patient from that community at the hospital for last three days with Ebola like symptoms. One of the Nurse directors that I was working with today stated that patient is in her dept.

Well that doesn't sound good at all. I
wonder how the Dr got it when it was
stated he followed guidelines. Must have
messed up somewhere. Or its more easily
spread than they say

If you are talking about the Dr who just got home from Guinea and is in the hospital, he came from a third world country where they are lucky if they change a pair of surgical gloves once a day. Very unsanitary place to work.

Think about this a simple scenario. He is a Dr. and a small child who just lost his family and is alone and has contracted the disease runs up to him all sweaty and grabs his hand for help (point of contact) he now has a good chance of contracting it.
Here in the states that would probably never happen.

I have to hand it to these doctors who go to these places they do take their lives into their own hands.

I have worked in every dept of a hospital since one of my responsibilities is to setup and program bio metric finger print readers and get every person from the head of the hospital down to the fellow who plants the tulips to store their finger prints in my database so I can give them access to restricted areas. At times I have had to wear bunny suits in the OR and ER to get to the people I need to get to. And I have often wondered, how do these doctors who treat patients with all sorts of disease, not contract it themselves.

They get paid well b ut they cant say no to any patient.
