8N front PTO shaft

Well I just got my tractor running after being pulled apart for years. In theory, my mechanic was working on it in his spare time. I got him to return it to me along with the parts. As you might suspect, there were many parts missing. I was able to figure out most everything EXCEPT the connection between my tractor and the loader off the front that powers the hydraulic pump on the loader. So I don't know what I am missing and I don't know how it attaches to the tractor, but I assume its to the crankshaft of the engine. It looks like I have the hub on the loader portion but nothing else to connect it to the tractor. On the tractor, I assume a rod of some kind goes through the small hole in the front bottom to the engine. I am praying that a rod screws in through the whole that will attach to the crankshaft as well as the hub. Otherwise, it might be a nightmare having to take the engine down again just for this one part. Anyone have any idea what I would be missing or have a manual page laying out how this goes together? Thank you in advance for your help. BTW, I can post pictures if this would be helpful but I assume the front PTO is standard on all 8Ns that someone might instantly know the answer. Christy

The crankshaft pulley must have either holes for an
adapter or a splined shaft. 8ns don't come equiped
with anything but a plain pulley,but must be
retrofitted with a different pulley for a front-
mounted pump. lha

Christy........FYI.......the N-Crankshaft hole is 5/8-11. Generally, you haffta install a NEW crankshaft pulley with a 1/2-moon clip. (actually a spline bar) ........Dell

In a subject line (front hydraulic pump removal) already to page 3 there are pictures posted that may help you locate in the leftover parts pail what you are looking for. My crankshaft pulley had the 4 holes. Looking at the front of your pulley is the place to start.
