tie rod boots and new 6v lights

Hello everyone and as always thanks in advance.

I had a quick question on the tie rod boots listed in the 8n steering section in the parts area of this website. I presume they certainly work for the front tie rods which are toast at this point, are two of the others for the steering arms mine are no good there either?

Also just picked up some 6v head lights. I read to use a 20 volt switch but anything I should know before I hook these up. I presume we can go right from the battery through the switch to the lights. If there's anything I should know before I do something stupid let me know.

Thanks

Oh yea 52 8n sidemount 6v

I think you meant 20@ switch

You COULD go from the battery if you wanted to defeat your net charge/discharge ammeter setup.

More correct way is to get power from the same terminal as the wire feeding the key switch. ( pre switch, not post)

Use a fused lamp switch

redbelly........what ever you do, do NOT wire yer new 6-volt headlites thru yer IGNITION switch. (you will let the smoke out) Ittza 5-amp device and will NOT power yer 20-amp headlites.

As fer yer headlite switch, they are NOT WATERPROOF, and as convenient as a dashboard mounted switch would be, they do NOT like rain water. Most headlite switches are mounted under the corner of the hood outta the rain. (just like yer ignition switch).....PS.....you can gitt waterproof switches, go to a marine supply store. (NOT hardware or tractor store).......electrical Dell
