Wire Clips for Headlight Bulbs...

What's the secret to installing them!?!

Nice set of Hall headlights, with stamped (not cast) bezels, that use the springy wire clips. First clip is easy, but I can't in get the second clip (or the third or fourth) to save my life.

(I'm working inside, on the kitchen counter, so I'm somewhat limited in the use of foul language.)

If I don't get this figured out soon, watch for a set of headlights in the Photo Ad section!

These will go on a Fergy (maybe!), so I posted this in the Harry Ferguson Forum. I know you "N" guys use a similar setup, so I posted here, as well. (Hope you don't mind.)

SPROING.........(giggle)........Tom.......dunno why yer haffin' problems.....BUT.......take about 1-ft of waxxed dental floss and tie one end in middle of yer clippie.......it'll make'm eazy to find again.....(BTDT)......I used a set of needle-noze pliers. As an licensed Radio-Engineer, I have several different sized needle-noze pliers and I suspect I used my smaller pliers. I seem to rememerize using a roll of duct tape to kinda hold the headlite steady on the kitchen table.......lite-less Dell

Thanks, Dell. (Nice to see you back on the board, by the way.)

I tried grabbing the clippie in the middle with a pair of needle-noze, then seating the ends under the edge of the bezel, and pushing the middle of the clippie into place under the edge of the bulb. I didn't have any luck, but is that the right idea?

I also tried grabbing both end of the clippie with a pair of needle-noze, and pulling them apart, but I ran out of hands.

I may give the duct tape on the dining room table a try. ("But Honey, Dell said this was the way to do it!")

I just put a set of these in a couple weeks ago.
As I recall, they slipped right in. No trouble at all.
Oh man, I am going to burn eternally for that one!!!

I put one side under the lip, held the clip down on the bulb,
then used needle nose pliers to roll the other side/end down
under the lip. Hopefully we have the same type lights.

Like these clip holding this CM Hall lens in the
bezel? I used my fingers!

Thanks, Royse and HCooke.

My clips look like these, as shown in a photo from an old thread on the Fergy board:

I have a sealed beam bulb (as pictured), rather than a lens as shown in HCooke's photo, but I think the clips will work. I've received some good tips since I posted.
