8N block clearance

I'm kicking around the idea of increasing the stroke of my 8N. Do any of you recall noticing if there is enough clearance in the block to increase the stroke significantly? I hate to take "Hank" down just to find there isn't room. Thanks, gm

Gary,Unless you have thousands and thousands of spare dollars just laying around and want to throw away you need to kick around some other idea. First you would need a stroker crankshaft made then shorter rods made then have the block machined. If you want your N to have more power just take some of your over abundance of dollars and buy a bigger tractor.

i agree. the amount of work needed to get significant increase in hp would be easier had selling it and buying a 6xx or 8xx tractor.

I agree with what you both state, but my thought is this. I have seen N's pull a few times over the years and have never seen a 4-banger pull worth a darn.

I can get the machine work done for a few hundred and research different rod and piston combos to get those parts paired up cheap enough. I've done that on Olivers and Farmalls. I just wondered if the block had any room in it. Thanks, gm
