Disclosing our location!!!

Since when cant we disclose our location from appearing under our names? What privacy is that infringing on if I choose to do so?to add OT in the subject.

EDIT:
Forgot to add OT in the subject.

I edited my password to a more simplistic one (since the keyboard on these IPhones must be made for small fingered people only) and when I saved I was told that I cannot save with a Location or Occupation for security purposes.

Guessing if I am a jihadist I cant tell you where I am from or what type of work I do just in case i am planning on using a Ford 8N in my next attack.

Since this site is mostly about talking about your possessions and valuable equipment then it's best it defaults to protect you, otherwise some nefarious fool could just find you and steal your stuff.. or worse.. but I agree it should be your choice to post whatever you want about yourself

If you choose to not disclose your location, its your business.
The only people you are 'Hiding' from are the folks on this forum that have like interest as you.
The first key you hit on the computer to answer an email or participate in forums such as these, the FBI, CIA, NSA, SPLA, and other gov. agencies have started a profile on you. So therefore you aren't hiding anything.

I don"t think the folks that run this site read
every post.

I've had my state listed as my location... I've also removed it.. I think..... If anyone wants to come to my apartment to steal my tractors... Have fun cause they aren't even in this state.....and if anyone tried to where they are they'd be met with a relative who carries. So I'm not worried.

Last thing I'm worried about is anyone coming to my home or onto my property. I don't write or say anything that I would not want anyone else to know. As far as carrying, I'm licensed in 39 states but I prefer leaving law enforcement to those who get paid to do it.
I will never live being afraid. I'm afraid of not being able to live. The men in my family have fought to give me that right. I won't disappoint them.

I'm not worried about it. I've shown pictures of my tractors, good
luck finding them in Montana! : ^)

Well said!!! Im just getting started shooting and just purchased my first 243 this summer...cant wait!

I don't see what the big deal is. People can look up your IP address. That gives em the area that your internet provider covers. Big covers a pretty good area. Not too worried. My dogs don't much care for strangers and most often someone is around.

Mine says MN. That's a lot of ground to cover to find my stuff.
