After removing the .040" sleeve from cylinder 1 I noticed a hole in the bore that opens into the water jacket. It appears to have been there for a long while. Some rust around the area. The sleeve had a small amount of rust on the outside but very minor in lite of the fact that the water jacket was up against it. The last time the engine was rebuild was in the mid 60's. I don't know if it was there then because I was not involved and my Dad had the work done. My thought is to either try something to patch the hole or just install a new sleeve and let it be.
