8n Draft Control?

The lift on my 1950 8n works fine in position control but when I turn the draft control lever the lift will not operate. If I have the plow already raised and then switch to draft it will slowly start to drop. Is there an adjustment somewhere that could help this? Will I be able to plow with only position control? Thanks

Are you plowing a garden or 40 acres?
It will plow in position mode, done it many times.
If you're doing a larger area you might want to fix the draft mode.
Adjustments would be under the top cover.
Zane's adjusting jig makes them easier.

I have the same exact problems. I have no idea what causes it. I even talked to Zane and he didn't think his jig would fix it.

If you follow my directions exactly with the Jig I
make the draft can be fixed and is the first thing
I instruct to be fixed so the posiion mode will
adjust right.

The condition he has is caused by wear and tear
and bent linkaged etc. but it can be fixed.

It's always the first thing to get out of
adjustment because of all the hammering it gets
from the top link. No matter if it's in draft or
position mode the draft link still get every
hammer blow like when a stump or a big rock etc it
hit with the implement.

I took the top cover off of mine and all linkages were pristine. Nothing bent or worn, including cam follower pin. The plate that the big top link spring sets in on the outside was very loose however.
