what piston is this?

Working in an 8n lift. I've never seen a piston like this. There is 1 big ring in the middle and was surprised to see part of it broken. There was 1 washer on it...well what was left of it. Is it an original piston?

Ring in the middle as in steel ring or rubber O-ring?
I think the original 8N lift cylinder piston had 3 metal rings.
Later NAA style had one O-ring and a leather washer backer.
Most recommend using them in the 8N now.

It was one big steel ring and a washer on
the bottom groove. Nothing in the top one.
We put in a new piston with neoprene oring
and the leather backup washer.
