rear axle wear and seal questions

I am working on a '52 8N tractor that was given to me. It has a major rear axle seal leak so I decide to tear into it and see what all it needs. I have read the good write up here, http://www.oldfordtractors.com/rep.htm#q15 and have some questions that I need help with.

The axle has both the inner and outer seals. The outer seal is in the bearing retainer, and the rear brake support has 4 studs that go through the retainer with nuts on the back side. Looking at the write up and on oldfordtractors the outer seal that they use goes on the outside of the rear brake support instead of in the bearing retainer and has all bolts, no studs. I'm guessing this is a new and improved version, but anyone confirm that I can use that style outer seal if I drive the studs out and replace them with bolts?

The hub on that wheel is worn, the axle nut was loose and the hub and drum came off with the wheel. The axle extends through the hub maybe 1/8" so I'm sure it needs to be replaced. The axle shows some rounding of the spline edges, I'm guessing this is from being run with the axle nut loose. Assuming the hub on the other side is still tight, I can try it. If not, outside of buying a new hub to see if it is a tight fit, is there anyway to tell how much wear is too much?

The screws that hold the brake drum to the hub are missing. Looks like these were shoulder screws, can anyone give tell me what size and thread pitch they are?

I have the screws that hold the drum on I
took off to send someone else a hub. Shoot
me an email and I'll stick em in the mail
Monday.

Lisa,
That would be great.
I can't seem to PM or send email from the forum. Not sure why.
My email is dkbasa at gmail dot com.

Parts book says 3/8-16 x 3/4" flat head machine screw.
