1939 9n pulling a set of discs

i have the chance of picking up a set of discs for very cheap. my only concern is that they or 7' wide wondering if that may be to much for my 9n. The motor has been recently rebuilt and tires or new. any thoughts on a 7' plow dis?

Three point mount or pull type?

Adjustable angle or not?

How heavy?

Loaded tires?

How do you plan to use it?

Dean

That's about the size of my disc.
The 2N pulls it just fine in 2nd gear. However, the disc is so heavy that I have to be very careful driving with it raised.

In addition to what Dean says...
The width of a disc isn't much help as some people measure the frame and some people measure the discs at their widest part.
It also makes a difference if the gangs are angled or straight.
And, older discs were generally spaced 7" between the discs and newer ones are usually 7 1/2" or even 8".
Soil type makes a difference too.
A better way is to count the discs.
Your N, properly ballasted, should lift and pull 4 gangs of 5 discs per gang in most soil conditions.
I pulled a lift type disc behind an N that had 20 discs on it for several years in our tough, rocky claey loam soil. I had good tires and wheel weights.
I added 200 lbs of steel plates to the disc to make it cut better and the N still handled it fine.

"Very cheap" grab it..My Dad has one he has worn
out behind his 2N --it will pull it fine with loaded
tires --- the loaded tires do make all the
difference.......

yes loaded tires, they are angled and there two rows, 3-point.
I did pick them up and have them at my deer camp the soil is very sandy with some rocks. im gonna give them a try on my food plots this week and see what she can do. thanks for all the advise.
