this weekends fun, car show and fly in, for the airplane guys we had a restored c-47, a p-51 a pt-17 stearman and a t-6 trainer all flew throughout the day , car show was fun, especially watching the planes for entertainment, now the end was something else again, I had to drive this 32 hot rod with massive power, and big tires on the rear home which was about 20 miles not bad until you figure that it was in the rain! that chopped windshield wasn't doing much either, it was fun going out to the show, let her run as fast as I dared but back was around 55 or so vision, not so good lol, and all that engine and those wide tires made for a skittish hot rod on the wet hiway we made it though

got to mention,. one of the highlites was the p-51 owners, they honor wwll vets both on stage and then if there up to it they get a ride in the mustang , well this little 90 year old lady who was attending was game, she was in the navy in the war, and with a lot of help, they got her up in the rear seat of the p-51,[ made in the area that used to have the radios in it back in the war] they were up for around 20 to 30 minutes, then as the plane taxied up and cut its engine most of the folks at both the air planes and the car show surrounded the plane applauding her as she got out, and thanking her for her service, they finally had to let her sit and slide down the wing and catch her to her to get her to the ground, but she was still up for about anything, cool to see a vet in that kind of shape as well as that many people show some feeling for our vets

ericlb, NICE ride!! Those open cars are really cool, until you have to drive in the rain or bad weather. Might think about a soft top for those days. ?? Looks like it would have to be a tall top though, plus an extended windshield. Have fun, and keep her between the fence posts, and shiny side up.

close im about 10 miles east of there, those planes are super nice! wish I had been able to spend more time with them, maybe next year I think there separating the car show and the planes to different weekends, its just too much to see and do in one day when there together, and ya got to keep a eye on the car too

On my way to a pull Sat. I met some old cars including a deuce coupe rod. We got done with the pull just before the very accurately predicted rain hit, and on my way home I met the same antiques, including the deuce coupe. Driver not looking happy, but he was warned.

lol yep driving the hot rod in the rain is a lot more intense than driving the tractor in the rain, but that's part of it, I saw this weather report too but I still was going[ already paid the entry for for the car anyway ] if it had held off the rain for 30 minutes the day would have been perfect, car is fine too not much water got into it and what did was quickly removed when I got it home
