mystery brackets

Any ideas what these brackets went to? I just took them off an 8n. They hooked onto the lift arms.

I don"t know the answer, but a neighbor has those brackets on a 2N, and I have always wondered what they were for. His 2n came with a roll over plow, so don"t know if they had anything to do with that or not. If so, there was no linkage to go with it, just the brackets.

(quoted from post at 15:25:15 09/12/14) There was one on each side. Do you mean like a hay rake?

That is awesome. Probably a lot more brackets left around than rakes. I've never seen one before. I put up a lot of hay but I bale it first. I sold the tractor and kept the brackets so if they are of any use to someone let me know.

Probably good to mount on the tractor for conversation piece but I don't know anyone who wants to restore one of these sweep rakes. If you do than I would gladly give them The one I have laying around in the barn.

Here it seems the latest thing for collectors is to have implements to show with their tractors. That would be really cool if someone had that to show. Sure would be different!

Could the brackets be useful for other improvised attachments like conventional front forks?

Tall I was thinking the same thing those are some heavy duty brackets was wondering what can be done with them. Definitely gives you a different leverage point off those rear lift arms.
