tsc stores?

TSC stands for Tractor Supply Company. In the old days they sold and carried tractor parts for all brands plus plow parts. They didn't sell clothing, lawn mowers and stuff.

i can remember going to TSC with my dad years a go. I remember seeing the 3pt hitch conversion kits and wide front axles on the floor. They carried all kinds of tractor parts for all brands.

dad had a tractor repair business. TSC also had a mail order catalog. dad would order sleeve and piston sets out of the catalog for the MM and Olivers tractors because there was no dealers close by.
bet if I dig through dads old books I could find a TSC catalog. I know he has a TISCO book from the old days.

(quoted from post at 21:43:37 09/09/14) does any one know if Illinois has any tsc stores?

Their website showed one in Carpentersville when I used their
store locator and searched for stores near the windy city.
A link isn't allowed, but you can find it easily. tractorsupply dot com
Not a great place to buy tune up parts.
Some other parts are not as bad, but most are of lower quality.

Hep.

There is a TSC about 50 miles from me and I rode up there to get a spool valve for my 9N with remote live hydraulics I asked for the smartest person there when I told him what I wanted he asked what is a 9N and WHAT IS A SPOOL VALVE. Don"t think I will be going back there.

TSC is a general farm supply store. They are not a parts store like Napa.

Well, looks like you just got there 50 years too late. Maybe you should leave earlier next time.

That's the truth my great uncle bought everything there for the tractor trailers and the farm tractors, and thy usually had what he wanted, but then that was Texas and about 60 years ago.

We have one here. Last time I was there for a cheap part for one of the n's they have these fancy little red lock deals on the pegs..so instead of waiting for some incompetent person to come unlock it I cut the package off the hanger (it was the last one) and brought my item and the hanger to the check out because one other time I was there they couldn't figure out how to unlock the pretty red lock. The young girl was not amused that she would have to "figure" out where it went to hang it back up. I smiled as I walked out!

(quoted from post at 19:07:58 09/10/14) thanks for all the info, I found one in Indiana 37 miles away.

The one in Hemet had a good selection of 3 point hitch parts. Some ORC's. Parts for repairing universal joints, slip clutches.

They did stock Autolite 437's which I sometimes have had to order at Napa. They had some mower shafts and parts also.

Fuel shut off bowl for the "N's".

They had a good selection of nuts and bolts. I'll go there instead of Home Depot for that stuff now as the two stores are a few blocks apart.
