Because I am one to admit when I am an idiot...My battery is fine...Apparently I need to remember to check and see how much gas is in the tank because it was so low it needed to be on reserve to run on anything that wasn't in the carb after turning the gas on.

Similarly, if I had a dollar for every time I've had to climb off a
"no longer running" tractor and turn the gas on, I'd be rich! LOL
At least it was a cheap fix. :)

Haha cheap enough till I put that premium
4 something a gallon gas back in it. Man
did I feel like an idiot Saturday when I
went to start it and it died in less than
a minute and wouldn't restart. I'm gonna
blame my voltmeter for showing low voltage
with key on! Even though I checked the
voltage on the battery. Boy I'm in trouble
beings I'm only in my early 30's

Painful for sure, but you can still buy several tanks full for the price of a battery!

Actually battery is cheaper for me.
They're interstate batteries that have
expired on the shelf and the pull the
sticker off and put an economic power
label on and sell them for $50. I froze my
first one cause I had a small drain on it
before i added the diode the first year
and didn't know it. And its warrantied
through interstate for 6 mo or a year.
less than 20hrs on the rebuild in 2 yrs.

Your 8N must have a big tank! ;)
BTW, I run regular in all of mine. Haven't had any trouble.

Haha nope the same 10 gallons as everyone
else. Cheapest Premium gas is 4.00/gallon.
As much as I don't get to use it I'll pay
the 4.00 a gallon than have problems with
the ethenol. I know it will run fine on
cheaper. But I've found the premium keeps
a little better even with stabil added.

Dont feel too bad, I had both happen to me in the same week, last week! The older you get the more it seems to happen. Its just no fair.

Year ago when I was a young soldier my landlord was a very good guy. He rescued me when my car, with a faulty fuel gauge ran out of gas. He not only brought gas out to me, he offered sage advice. "If you keep the top half full the bottom half will never run dry"! That's a little wisdom that I try to pass on.
