Draft lever question

I put my plow on this week and when I move the draft lever forward to draft control, the lift arms drop. If I push the lever down and hold that pressure the draft control seems to work. I thought the lever was installed wrong because when I am holding it down I am up against the deck bolt, but I looked at others and it seems right. Is there an adjustment I need to make or something?
Thank you.

Henry........yep, thats right. Do NOT plow in "position-control"....ie....the little "flush" lever under yer right kneezy. It should be down and pointing forward. Its yer BIG side lever thats supposed to lift yer plow for turning or transport. Then lower yer BIG lever so the point of the plow is sucked in by forward movement of the tractor. During normal plowing, both yer right front and right rear should be in yer furrow. Causing yer plow to turn the soil and leave a vertical wall fer next time around. Remember yer PTO must be turning for the hydraulics to operate.......plowing Dell

Thanks Dell. So with the draft lever forward (horizontal position) , I still should be able to lift the plow with the BIG lever correct? Because right now I can not, unless I push further down on the draft lever.
Thanks.

I thought one of the hyd experts would have chimed in by now. There is a pretty good section on the hydraulics in the I&TFO-4 service manual. You may have internal wear or adjustment problems. there is a section on adjusting the constant draft spring.
unfortunate but the top cover has to come off. Not that hard but it is heavy ands awkward.

Loosen the 4 mounting bolts on the quadrant & slide it toward the rear & see if that helps. May be a problem, but not likely the only problem., even if it gets Draft working for now.
