How my last 3 days went.

Makes for long, hot boring days. The 8N defiantly won't haul that around. Requires 85HP and 10,000 pounds to pull it safely according to the book.

My granddaughter meeting a calf face to face for the first time. That's my nephew helping her out.

She wasn't brave enough to let the calf lick her fingers.

Great pics. How many acres u farm? When i was a kid i worked for a guy loading hay. His setup was a trailer behind the bailer so the bails came out on the trailer. He kept a few cows but made a good part of his money off of the hay. Talk about some long hot days...

Way to get the family involved. Get them kids in at an early age, they'll be better off for it.

Tim, we have 200 acres. That picture was taken in on of my BIL's field. He had oats in as a nurse crop to hay. He cut the oats and the it started raining every other day. I've still got about 20 acres of wheat at my place to do.

Cute photos of the kids Rick.
As to the N not being up to the job, maybe you could put a pair of them together as duals or tandems to get the job done. :)

Ready for the snow? They"re talking end of Sept beginning of Oct....Above average snow and below average temps....Not looking forward to taking my daughter to school everyday 10 blocks away. Going to burn a lot of gas in the truck not to mention wear and tear....surprise we live in the only district that doesn"t have a bus. Was snowing up in central Alberta Canada today. Big cold front dropped through and we"re looking at possible frost in the next few days.

Jerry it requires 85 PTO HP so it would have to be dueled tandems! Think I'll stick the IH 1206.

Not really. Will be in a week or 2.

I'm not ready! Somehow summer slipped by
me. I'm not ready to shovel my apartments
after running a daycare for 10hrs a day.
Better get the Erskine up to the cabin so
we can get in this winter

What model combine is that? You must have a pick up
reel on it. Do they make a corn head for that
machine? I had a pull type #80 IH than I got a JD
#45 and that is what I still us. No snow here yet We
are not ready for a frost.

Henry, it's a 6601 JD. weighs in about 7000 pounds, takes 85 PTO HP to run it and hold a tad over 100 bushels. It has the rubber belted plastic finger pickup on it. I'm pretty happy with it. I paid 1500 for it at auction last year. The control box was the wrong one so I had to rewire it but it works great!
