guard for front of jubilee

Loading pickups with my ford jubilee with a Paulson loader works good. Loading a 1.5 ton truck is difficult as the grill of the tractor has to be watched closely by someone other than the driver to prevent hitting the bed of the truck with the grill.
Would like to know what others have built, bought, to protect the grill of their jubilee tractors.

I'm surprised your loader does not have a built in guard on it. Both tractors I have with loader the guard is part of loader frame and it protects the grill and the hyd pump

Old,
The loader on my Csse 320 Industrial has a build in guard for the grill and hydraulic pump. I have the bumper assembly for the jubilee from our host which protects part of the grill and the pump has its own guard.

Old,
The information and pictures I have collected for Paulson loaders for the N tractors shows them mounted without a guard. One in the picture is the Paulson loader in its most simplest form. Mine has hydraulic cylinders for the bucket and a front mounted pump.

A bumper would help.
You could also extend that bumper up to protect the grill.
This is one that had been used for a long time on a 9N.
Ugly, but the grill and radiator were both still in tact.
Make sure you don't block air flow to the radiator.

All my loaders have a sort of warp around frame work up front so as the hold the loader up front and all also. Yours looks like it uses the tractor frame work to be part of the loader frame and I sure would not want to depend on that seen too many tractors broke in 2

Old,
The Paulson loader on my jubilee is a full frame type loader. Back of loader frame supported under rear axles using the fender bolts each side. Front of loader bolts to the front frame work for the engine

put a truck snowplow corner rod/flag in your bumper hitch hole, hood nose high.
see the flag move....stop

Can not see how it is bolted up front. My loaders have pieces that bolt on to go around the front if the grill and hold both sides of the loader to each other

Works great as an indicator, not much for protection though.
I remember lifting a loader too high and having stuff roll out the back.
Still a good idea if you just need to judge distance.

Royse,
I generally use the loader on the jubilee to put things in my 1/2 ton ford pick up. I was loading limbs and brush onto 1.5 ton truck the other day. Probably will not be loading things onto larger trucks for a long time. The flag idea is great

Old,
That loader frame on the Paulson is in 2 pieces The 2 pieces curve together at the front just under the support for the front of the engine. A piece of 1/2 x 4 inch flat bar bolts to each end of the loader frame. There are 2 1 inch holes in the flat bar. Two large bolts go through the flat bar and bolt to the front engine support
How is your loader supported at the front? I imagine there are holed in each side fir bolts to attach to the supports for the enfine

when i load hay into my 1 ton or 1.5 ton with my 850 I bunji a used truck tire to the front. i need to just bolt it to bumper... about all i do with that loader is move hay.

this is actually more for the truck protection than the tractor. :) the tractor is butte ugly. :)

Soundguy,
Your tire idea is good. The grill work on my jubilee is fragile and in very good shape now. When loading things into my 1/2 ford with my 320 case industrial I frequently butt into the side of my pick up. Grill protection on the case is the original case guard which is heavily built.Your 850 is a great tractor. I think you also have power steering. I keep the tires on the jubilee inflated to 30 lbs . No power steering on my jubilee but works ok when the the tractor is moving. Have power steering on the case which is great

Old,
I took a picture of how one side of the Paulson frame connects to the front of the tractor. Other side is the same.
The flatbar is bolted to each end frame. End frames are bored and taped for bolts. The flat bar connects to a place with bolts under the front support for the engine.I was in Arizona and looked all over the country, ebay, craiglists, for a loader for my jubilee. Found one on craigslist in Shelton which is in the state, Washington, where we live. Bought it sight unseen for $1500.00 Contacted Paulson in Minnesota to get more information on the loader. The company has sold . talked to a person who had worked for Paulson and had worked on the manufacture of the loader. His company will still custom make the loader, $7000.00 which does not included the hydraulics or the shipping to WA. state. I would never do such a thing as the jubilee is not worth anywhere near that much money. I was very fortunate. The loader I bought had the original tags and paint was in good condition. All hydraulics were with the loader and all the attaching bolts. Probably one of the first things I have purchased that I didn't have to modify or have a machine shop make parts. Replaced the hydraulic control valve from cross company. Everything fit perfectly. Even the hydraulic hoses were the exact correct lentth.

My loaders pretty much hook up the same way but where the pump mounts it has a set of pipes that go up to just below the top of the hood to protect things
