Extra parts

I recently pulled the head off my 2N to fix a stuck valve. Some time passed between disassembly and assembly and when I got it back together it worked. One problem I had an extra spring that I am not sure how to attach. It has something to do with the throttle quadrant.

It is about 2" long and 4" overall. Anyone know how to hook it up?

Could it be the governor compensating spring?

Thanks Del,

That looks right to me. I am not sure how that would compensate a governor. No wiggling of the spring would happen without seeing something going on at the throttle quadrant - right? Anyway, I will put it there and feel better that I put it together and had no parts left over.

Dell, I see a rubber gas line on there. It also looks like the metal line is leaning against the motor in places that would vibrate a hole in it. Is that really what I'm seeing?

Looks like a temporary tank to me!

Yeah, I was really trying to figure out what it was. That engine certainly looks familiar. I just didn't think of a temporary tank.

My apologies Del.

I notice 5 holes in the plug wire tube for 5 spark plug wires ???????

You are right, there is 5 holes and it was easier to use the extra hole for #1 plug wire. Here is a picture of what they are suppose to look like. Using the #1 hole puts a quite a bind on the plug wire.
