4.5x16 tires replace with?

I am having trouble finding 4.5x16 tires for my 2N. All I have been able to come up with are the European style and I don't like those. Seems that 5.00 and 6.00 are pretty common. Can I safely mount the 5.00 on my 4.5 rims?

Richard.......yes, you can safely mount 5.00x16 tires on yer 2N rims. You will also need new tubes as 2N rims are NOT made for tubeless tires. And yes, tubeless tires will accept tubes.......tired Dell

I have had this tractor for about 14 years. A PO had welded 15 inch car rims to the tractor centers and it had Michelin steel belted radials with a tube. They were worn out when I got the tractor. The same tires are still on it. I live in an area with a lot of thorny mesquite and had never had a flat but the tires are really dry rotted so it is time to change them out.

My 2N came with 6.5 tires and new tires are 5.5.
How ever as another pointed out 16" tires not gonna work on 15" rims

Richard, I cut the centers out of my wheels carefully and then cut the centers out of a 15" wheel and they laid in there perfectly with little trouble squaring the rim with the center out of my wheels. I'm assuming you have the large centers in your 4.5 wheels. Then you can put about any type of tire you wish on the 15" rim. I have some old trailer tires off of my travel trailer on mine right now and makes very little difference in turning ability.

Good luck Dave,
