Stuff That Follows Me Home

8N's cause a serious disease whose symptoms include letting things follow you home. This one was given to me if I would take it away. It is a ten foot by 2x2 solid steel toolbar that had been lying in a honeysuckle and briarpatch for at least 30 years. It must weigh 200 pounds, as I had to pick it up by hand (and acking back) to put it on a trailer. At least the hitch pins were centered and easy to grab.

Now I have a dilemma..., can you see the problem? I had to replace the 1" hitch pins with the Cat 1 7/8" and bushings to fit the 8N, so this must be a Cat 2 tool bar. The angles are 45 degrees off, so will a longer Cat 2 upper link square them up so I can put my hiller discs on it?

Sure helps to have a picture!

Sorry Jim, but 45 is the correct angle for all the old IH tool bars that I have & have ever seen.

That looks just like the tool bar on my john Deere two row corn planter.

It works fine with my TO35 Ferguson.

Nice heavy tool bar, do not think the little Ford will bend it.

I just made a hiller, bar out tool out of and old Ferguson two row cultivator frame.

Nice tool to have, sure can cover up a lot of small grass in the row.

Does IH have a bracket that will fit the 45 degree bar and hold a straight, round shaft hiller disc? Doesn't matter to me what the brand is if I can get the implement mounted. Thanks.

on't know. Try asking on the YT Farmall & International Harvester Forum.
