8N lift problems

Have a 1950 8n. Was pulling with a bar on the lift arms and when going through a ditch the arms got jammed upward. The lift no longer even tries to work. I removed the right inspection cover and the rod is in place between the lift arms and piston. The control rod seems to be working as well. There is some fluid swishing up over the pump but that is the only thing I see moving. Any suggestions of what I may have done when the lift arms were jammed upward?

re they mechanically stuck in full up position?

(quoted from post at 08:45:23 09/05/14) No the arms are down but don't try to lift.
id you have anything connected to the top link rocker attachment point?

No, I had just put a "draw bar" on the lift arms. I was moving a 300 gallon water tank and just didn't think about it jamming upward when I was pulling but when I drove down in a creek the weight pushed the tank foreward and there was nothing in place to prevent the arms from being jammed upward.

our answers have ruled out some things. Try to get a good look (mirror/light) at the rocker that the piston rod (dog bone) connects to, looking for breaks/cracks/etc. Can you see whether piston is in/out of cylinder? Or piston movement when lift commanded?

Try looking at the rocker with a mirror while
lifting the lift arms. The rocker could be broken
off the rocker arm shaft.
