THE BEARING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CARRIER LOCK UP. THE INNER RACE SPUN ON THE CARRIER IT HAS WORN ABOUT 1/16 IN. ALSO IT HAS WORN TO THE BACK OF THE CARRIER. GOING TO TURN THE CARRIER AND PRESS A BUSHING ON THE CARRIER. THEN WILL TURN BACK TO THE DIA. OF THE INNER BEARING RACE. THE PROBLEM I DON'T KNOW HOW FAR TO TURN THE BACK OF THE BUSHING TO SEAT THE BEARING TO GET THE PROPER LOAD ON THE BEARINGS. IF ANY ONE KNOWS THE DEPTH I NEED TO TURN THE BUSHING TO GET THE PROPER LOAD, PLAEASE LET KNOW.

After you get the OD turned to the proper size start the new bearing on the carrier and then bolt up both trumpet housings. Take the left side trumpet off and measure the gap then make a shim that size.

(If I can find it) I have a good carrier with a bad ring gear you could have for the cost of freight.

There must be plenty of others around that could be had reasonably as well.

Sounds like you are like me, though, and like to play with the lathe!
