Finishing mower

A friend of mine keeps wearing out bearings in a finishing mower. Has been through 3 sets this summer alone. This is a 5ft King Kutter mower. He says he has no idea why.... Anyone have any problems like this before? Suggestions? He got the replacement parts from TSC. I think the county line parts are the same as the king kutter, or maybe they are just the same mower.. Idk. Any help is appreciated.

I went through a couple sets of bearings in a KK finish mower. Then a friend told me to stop using the greasable type bearings and go to a sealed bearing. I never had to replace another one.

I have done the same thing for my 6" KK also with excellent results. I buy HD sealed bearings from a nearby Tampa firm on E-bay and rarely have to change them, no worry about greasing them either!

Not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone know where to get sealed bearing for a 5 foot Caroni finish mower? I have had one for 25 years and I hate greasing those bearings all the time. The mower is in great shape so I would not mind spending the money for new bearings if I never had to grease them again.

Locally bearings became harder to get, no one stocks much so usually 2-3 trips to the bearing store and then they may sometimes been shipped wrong. I started using Ebay, just type in the bearing dimensions in search and many choices pop up. I like the Ebay seller usabearingsbelts and have real good luck with them and their products. They are in Tampa just down I-4 from me and my order arrives 2 days after ordering on Ebay. Other nice feature is that I buy 2 KK spindle bearings premium sealed from them for $5.00

Can anyone provide the part numbers or sizes of the KK spindle bearings and seals? I'd like to keep a couple of sets on hand for when I need them, but hate to have to take one apart just to get the numbers

That's a great price! IIRC I paid about $8 ea for the greasable ones and closer to $14 for the HD sealed type. That was 10 years ago.
I sold that 6' mower and bought a used 7' KK.
I can hear a couple of spindles are getting noisy.
Will have to check out your ebay source.
Thanks.
