Cannot re-install power take-off shaft. Need ideas?

might try loosening the pump mount bolts so that the pump can move a bit. will have to drain fluid or make a mess!

Should slide right in, assuming the splines are not damaged. Try turning the shaft while pushing to line up the splines with the coupler. Put the transmission in gear so the coupler does not turn. Might also try moving the PTO shift lever to the other position.

I"d try putting the PTO in gear and rocking the tractor back and forth a little while inserting the shaft..worth a try..
