In this posting on 11-23-2012, GB in MT posted a picture of a carb N that is very close to the TSX 428 carb that Mr Rowles was talking about. On the left side of the upper half, the picture shows something like a screw/office under the flange with air going through it.
Is there supposed to be a hole through this screw/orfice ?
I have a TSX 428 on a NAA that the idle air/fuel mix is not working right. My carb has the same screw office but there is no hole through it. Should there be a hole through it ?
Thank you for the help and I hope I interputed the picture correctly.

I have a 241b in front of me. It has a plug in that hole. I believe that it was just a hole to go thru to drill the hole on the other side of throat. Hole hole thru it at all.

Gary,
Thank you for the replies.
In the picture of the carburetor, there appears to
be a yellow and blue line going through the
threaded member under the flange. There is no
legend for what the yellow and blue represent.
The green lines are for idle fuel and the magenta
lines are for power fuel.
The yellow and blue line appear to be going
through the threaded member. Is there supposed to
be a hole (orfice) in the threaded member ?
What is the legion for the yellow and blue lines.
Sorry I could not get the modern view to work so I
sent you the reply this way.
I sincerely appreciate any help you can give me.

Geiger answered your question. The mfgr had to drill those throat holes from somewhere & he made an opening from which to insert a drill & when finishedm he plugged the hole. That isn't the only plugged hole either. Look carefully, you can find more.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I appreciate your
help. It made sense to me that there should not
be a hole through the plug since it would let in
unfiltered air. Yes I have seen the other plugs.
The thing that caused me to ask the question was
the the yellow and blue lines drawn through the
plug. I could not find the legend for what they
represented. Could you tell me what the legend is
and why the lines were drawn through the plug?
Once again Thank You and I certainly appreciate
your help and am always totality impressed with
the scope and depth of your knowledge.

hat was one of probably a half dozen drawings in a series & as I recall a color was assigned to each passage. Those represent the path one would need to use to probe each and every passage.....same path used to drill them.
