Went to do the brakes and rear axle seals on the 8N I bought last summer. Everything went great on the right side but when I started the left side I knew there was trouble. seems the PO or maybe the PO to the PO, had it apart before. They failed to properly install the lock clip and the axle nut had worked loose. The axle looks good but the hub doesn't. Oh well, guess I'll see what that's going to cost me in the morning.......

This is the one I use almost daily.

Lisa, thanks, I'm going to try local first. My parts store can get Tisco brand stuff. I'm going to check first thing in the morning to see about price and how fast I can have it.

What general area are you in? If you could be faster than my source I would be willing to buy one from you. I really need this one back up quick.

(quoted from post at 20:16:58 08/17/14) I'm in Grand Forks ND....Tractors are about 10 miles
from me East Grand Forks MN

Too bad I don't have a VA appointment in Fargo in the next day or two. That would only be another 70 or so miles. :(

I'm down here east of Fergus Falls MN.

I'll let you know tomorrow if I need one.

Thanks

Rick

Very true or I could have meet you someplace like on US 10 or 2 depending on the route you took. If your ever down this way give me a shout. We got to Fargo once or twice a month buy haven't been to GF in a while.

Lisa, my parts store carries Tisco brand items. They don't offer a rear hub. Please let me know price and how long it would be before you can get one shipped. Email should be open.

Welcome to my world. I did the brake seal brake thing this summer also. Mine came loose also. Luckily it happened when I was backing in to something with my boom pole and not on the road like where I was only a half an hour earlier. Naturally I couldn't find the nut in the tall grass, bright red and all. It least I didn't go to school on "where to buy a nut" though. That from Ford-NH. Thirty-one dollars and change, nut and retainer. "Really, are you sure" I blurted out on the phone. Yup! Had the wife google it a found one in SC for $4.39 plus around three bucks for shipping. The hub survived since I was barely moving at the time.

If you and Lisa can't come up with whatcha need ....I got two in pristine condition....just took a rear end apart yesterday...

ED, thanks. Lisa already has it in the mail to me and considering the distance (about 160 miles) I would not be shocked to see it in 2 days.

When I get time to do more stuff if I find myself needing something I'll let you know.
