ford 44 2n what should ask for tractor

I was wondering how far should i go to sell thisbtractor i
need to replace muffler,and tune up, and change trans fluid
,the tractor runs good know. One tire is knew other has
good tread but wheather checked. Should i take time to
paint i already cleaned grill dog legs with electrolisis tank.it
will be rustoleum paint job. What would be agood asking $
when done.i wife said i dont need 2 tractors and its tax
time. I tink ill have 600$ in when done
 
Much depends on location Tom. Got a picture of it?
Will you get that much more out of it if painted?
Paint will get some more buyers interested, but functional would
be more important to someone who is planning on working it.
Painting isn't that expensive really, but the dis-assembly and
cleaning required to do it correctly is very time consuming.
 
Yes i agree prep is most of the work hood is off and
fenders will come of any thing i can fit in my electrolisis
tank will be cleaned i degreased tractor with oven cleaner
works great. Me and my 5 kids will wire brush the rest and
some welding wil be requred were some idiot cut slots to
change lights not me. If i canfigure out how to post pic i will

Paint will bring the price up. But doing a good job is hard work. Main thing I would do is give it that Tune Up and get it running right. I see so often people say 'runs good just needs a tune up (or carb work). If it needs that then it's not running good. That is often a cover up statement for other problems. Wouldn't cost much money or work to get it right. I might not worry about the hydraulic fluid. But that could be a sign of neglect to some.
 
The tractor runs good know just won"t to spruce it up. My 8n It had a lot of rot and lots of tin and welding work. This 2n tin is much better less rot thanks .
 
Then probably best to sell it without a new paint job. New paint jobs where the tractor was painted just to sell it were often painted just to hide the rust like on your 8N. But not done right it shows back up shortly. I'm less likely to buy one with a New paint job for that reason. But that's just me.
