finally got to fixing my carb problem. had the typical "only ran well with partial choke" problem. folks here steered me in the right direction; dirty carb / plugged main jet. asked a short while ago about how to ID the carb and GB was kind enough to point out the obvious; look at the tag! (which was attached)
so i ordered up a simple repair kit (from this site) and saturday morning took it off; cleaned it up; swapped out a few parts and got it back on the tractor. set the main at 1 1/2 turns out and fired right up. and ran under load without the choke. didnt even need to use the itchy twitchems.
so now all i need to do is find a different use for the snapper type clothespin i was using to keep the choke engaged.
