Ford 8N tranny and hydraulics problems

Hello, I think I have two problems with my 8N. Just rebuilt the
top half of hydraulic and relief valve in pump. Lift worked good
for a few days but died. I think the pump is bad but not sure
what goes bad in a mechanical pump.

Second, now the tractor will not move, it feels like it is going
into gear but when I let off the clutch I do not move. Wth motor
off i put in gear and roll and it is in gear. Also no PTO.

Are these issues connected? Did I lose the pump and is the
clutch stuck engaged or do I have another problem?

Thanks

The hydraulic pump is driven by the PTO shaft. No PTO - no hydraulics...

I'm sure someone will come along and help with what is causing your problems - maybe a bad clutch??

Feels like the clutch is always engaged with pedal up. Can I
adjust clutch to ensure it is disengaged? I see linkage that will
all adjustment but assume that is for more clutch engagement
not less.

The transmission is stuck in two gears. Take the top off the transmision being careful not to loose the detent spring that is at the back of the cover and under it.

Best to jack up one rear wheel if possible and then just start prying the gears around till all the slots for the shifter rod are aliged in a row so all the gears are in neutral and there you have fixed it!!!!!!!

In the future shift carefully and while standing still and or weld up where the slots and end of the shifter rod it worn so much it is allowing it to go between the slots and get into two gears.
