Looks pretty, hadn't tested it yet when this was taken.

Some of the parts as I was cleaning.

Here it is mounted on my '51 for testing. (no, I didn't paint the '51)

Current stable idle speed on my brandy new proofmeter.
No problems with full throttle, road gear from 500RPM or disking.
I'll be sending it back to you on Monday.

very nice, that venturi looks to be brass, mine appears to be plastic. Were some of the original ones brass?
Can you tell me what model that carb is? I am trying to ID mine and it looks just like that one, except nowhere near as pretty. :)

GB, thanks for the compliments!
As you know from our conversations, this isn't a new foray for me
but I would have to be a fool not to take lessons and learn from you!
So yes, I even bought the same screws that looked so good on yours.
Hope you weren't trying to patent them or anything!
I agree with your sentiment too; its done right or it "ain't done".
I sleep well at night and plan to keep it that way. :)

dogsled1, most of these carbs look very similar, hard to tell them apart
if they are not marked on the outside without taking them apart.
Does yours have a rivet in the left side like the one in the first
picture? If so it probably had a brass tag that is now missing.
Like the one in the second pic. ( I think credit goes to John(WA))
If not, the TSX-xx model number was probably stamped there.
Not sure I can find a picture of that, but I'll try.
As far as I know, all the original venturi were brass.
Plastic is the new replacement. Honestly, I haven't heard of any
trouble with the plastic ones, but I don't like them because they
seem cheap in comparison.

(quoted from post at 18:59:25 08/02/14) Looks real sharp. Too bad can't see the flashy chrome once installed.
No chrome on there Howdy. Chrome rusts and peels.
Stainless steel. Still can't see it, but it don't rust! :)

I recon I gotta ask cuzz I already squeeze all the blood I can out of folks when it comes to carb work... How much more can I get to shine all those parts up and replace good screws with shinny screws...

I have found when I work for the glory it don't pay well... I pray the big tipper gods bless you.... I have gave GB the same blessing when we have talked...

Stainless even better.
Working at a plating shop I understand about still rusting.
Gonna be a toss up when it's time for mine, 'carb by GB' or 'carb by Royce'.
Either way I'm the winner :D

I'll take all the blessing I can get!
You're right about it not making any money.
In fact, its a loss if you count your time.
It's a tractor thing for me, nothing to do with glory.

Royse, mine is in pieces in the vat of carb cleaner soaking right now, I don't remember it having a rivet, there though. I took a chance and ordered the comprehensive rebuild kit for the 241 series. They had another comprehensive rebuilt kit for the TSX33.

(quoted from post at 18:34:02 08/02/14) I like your handle -dogsled1_ can you tell mne why you selected it? thanks Kathleen

As a kid I aways wanted to go to Alaska and live as a frontiersman. Still seems like a good idea actually. :)

You'll probably be fine with that kit.
Some of the parts, gaskets etc, are the same
anyways.
If you run into trouble shoot me an email.
I'll try to help you out.
