Cordwood/Buzz saw

Well I finally picked up the attachment that the wife promises to like the least, a Buzzsaw. I do not believe it to be either a Dearborn or a Fergusson as it appears to be more of a stationary unit and does not mount to the lower liftarms. I could not find a mfg tag either. I was thinking of rebuilding the framework to incorporate the arms and make it lift and more mobile. My question is where besides Fleabay, could I pickup the PTO mounted belt pulley assembly? I am not sure of the "official" name of this unit and as I now have the 1 3/8 PTO shaft does this narrow my search?
Thank you

I think the 1 3/8 pulleys are harder to find at
least in my area. You can use an extension with an
adapter but these are even harder to find. call
around to some tractor salvage yards. Take a want ad
on this site. You might get lucky.

Were they only ever made to directly fit the small shafts, with the adapters coming later?

This one is mine.
There's a saw blade, shaft and bearings for sale in my area but the seller said that the blade is bent. I wonder if the blade just has the normal dished shape and he "thinks" it is bent. But like those half tracks I missed out on, I've probably waited too long. :)

I was going to shorten them make them fit just the rear tires.
the leftover pieces would have been dandy for getting un-stuck.

D,
I just sold a complete saw and pulley and tractor to my brother in northern Minnesota. I also have a complete buzz saw in central Minnesota. One is a Ferguson and one a Dearborne. I have an extra pulley made for a 1.25 pto shaft. Have seen conversions but not too sure about them. Would consider parting with the extra pulley if you are interested.

PTO pulley assemblies for the OEM N series 1 1/8" PTO shaft are not difficult to find. I have several.

The 1 3/8" PTO pulley assemblies, needed if your tractor has the larger, now standard, PTO shaft are considerably more difficult to find. I also have a couple of these.

1 1/8 to 1 3/8 adapters and the spacer needed to use the adapter are no longer commercially abailable but used ones can occassionally be found. I have several. That said, spacing the pulley back from the tractor alters the geometry of the linkage and belt, requiring modifications to a three point mounted saw if the OEM belt tensioning system of saw is to work as intended.

The 1 3/8 pulley also bolted directly on. I have a
couple of them. I guess the extension with the
adapter was to make use of the 1 1/8 pulley because
there were so many of those around.

I have a belt pulley assembly that I don't use. It's HEAVY. Located in Salem, WI. just across IL border about 10 miles east of Lake Michigan. Contact me if interested.

Hi Dean. I have a 1950 Ferguson TO20 with the 1 3/8" PTO. If you still have the 1 1/8" - 1 3/8" adapter, I'd like to purchase one from you. Thank you and get back to me at your convenience.
