Please Help Identify - 9N or 2N?

I hope there are pics attached. Lady up the road is selling this tractor and some implements, and asked me to find out what they are worth. Found this shifter on the left side of the transmission. No idea what it is. Also found "9N9425" stamped on what I think is the exhaust manifold on right side of tractor (sitting in seat). Could this be the serial number? Research says serial should be on left side.

All guidance in identifying is greatly appreciated.

Idk what the number u found on the manifold is, could b a part number. Serial should b on the left side of the block behind the oil filter. Hard to see sometimes after multiple coats of paint. That lever is for an auxilary trans that would give the tractor another range of gears. It does add to the value, how much depends on which one it is. The sheet metal looks ok which is important for anyone wanting to fix it up and it looks like it has good tires. If that mower is to go with it of course that adds some value. Depends on location too. Look on CL for an idea about what they go for. Around here i would list if for maybe 2500 and be looking to get a little less.

Tip # 71 will help you find the s/n. You're looking at a part number.

As others have said, John Smith's site will help you a lot.

The shifter on the side is an auxiliary transmission, probably a Sherman step-up.

The I-beam radius rods are 1944 or earlier.

But didn't the 2N also have I-Beam rods until 1944?
Fender bolt holes cast into the axle, were no longer solid on the 2N (like this one).

I'll leave the final analysis to the experts. :)

fenders, front steering arms, bolts in the doglegs
all point to a 42-mid 44 2N, when they changed to oval rods.
Looks like the hole is in the dogleg for the choke rod.
1500-2500 depending on which it is, and location which matters a lot.
9N-2N's are lucky to bring 1500 here.
