Golden Jubilee

While looking for a new fuel line part for my 8N I found a small tractor sales nearby.
His shop looked more like an antique store than a tractors sales shop but he buys and sells old tractors so that is to be expected.
Right in the middle of his shop sits a completely restored, or mint condition 1953 Golden Jubilee.
He said he bought it from a farmer that lives about 20 miles from here and that the farmer was the original owner.
He was asking $12500 for it. I wondered if that was a fair price.

That's an awful lot of money as far as I am concerned, but I wouldn't take that for mine and mine is no way in mint condition.

$12K for a tractor with no power steering, no live PTO and basically no hydraulic remotes because they're so hard to find?
No sir, not for me.
For that kind of dough you can buy a heck of a lot more tractor.

I like the 'redheaded stepchild' NAA's
I have 3 at the moment. 2- 53's and 1-54
All are nice to look at, have good tires, and everything works fine.
1 has a combo Sherman, all 3 have the hard to find remote valve.
and....
you can have all three of them for that total amount of money :D

Seriously, way too much money.
If I'm going to spend that amount for a totally restored show tractor, I'd be looking for a better, more unusual model.
Or a Green one LOL

Here's one for $11,500.00

I don't think it is all the right color scheme.
They don't clearly say what they did to the engine.
Unless a total engine rebuild has been done, this one isn't worth near that much either.

Fair is relative I suppose, but I would run away fast.
There was a very nice looking Jubilee for sale here with power
steering for $2000. I passed on it, but it was probably a pretty
good deal. Even had nice tires. Ten grand more? I can't see it.

In my neck of the woods,
here's one that's been listed for over a week at $3200.00.

Looks like new rims too. :(

That's what I paid for mine but it did come with 5 attachments
(rear blade, 6' rake, crane, Carry-all, home-made harrow)
new front tires, loads of extra fittings and attachment type bars and parts, headlights, rear work light, bumper, hydraulic filter set up, PTO belt drive, tow chains, air seat . . . and it was delivered from off-island.

I'm still hoping I did O.K. :)

In one of those photos the oil pressure looks like the thing is running and the needle is at 20. Mine never drops below 40 so I'm hoping that my obviously older restoration, didn't see many hours after the fact.
