ford 600 series

Any idea what a 600,series Ford is worth. Engine is supposedly stuck, good tin. Not so good tires. Sounds like it may have the hydraulic pump on the side of engine and possibly a hupp. The guy didn't have pics posted. He wants 1200 for it and its a 4 hr drive from me. He said the serial # is 3472 with a 40 above it but seems he's missing a number on the top one. What options were available with these? Similar to a jubilee?

the 600 does look similer to the jubilee, it has slightly more power, and a much better rear axle, depending on which 600 series it actually is there were some other options as well , price is probablty ok for what it is, but id counter at 800 due to the stuck engine, you dont know if it is slightly stuck, and can be freed up and run or is hoplessly stuck and has to be rebuilt and thats big time expensive

Similar to a Jube, yes. Same engine and approx physical size.
Lots of differences too though. Hydraulics ran internal to the
transmission instead of exterior, rear end is totally different too.

I think you're right that a number is missing. 4 speed?
If so probably a 640 for the top model number.
Live hydraulics, not live PTO if that is the case.
Decent tractors. I've been fixing one up for the last couple years.

With a stuck engine and poor tires I think he's high on the price.
I bought mine "ran when parked", not stuck, like new tires for less.
They do seem to bring more in your neck of the woods though.

If it has a Hupp, that may add some value.
Best of luck with it either way! :)

Like the Jubilee, there's a lever on the right side to change the
hydraulics from draft mode to position control mode.
Lever on the left side to turn the PTO on and off, same again.
Could also have a remote hydraulics valve or hydraulic diverter
valve mounted under the front edge of the seat.

very good tractors
when you are sitting on it, using it, it IS a Jubilee,
but the 600 has a much better rear axle design,
and the 600 hydraulics are updated, and lots more later parts, valves, etc will fit-interchange.
The Jubilee/NAA years, the hydraulic system was unique and pretty much nothing will interchange with anything except other NAA's.

However, I agree that the one you are looking at is a bit overpriced.
A stuck engine that might be saveable, might be junk, and poor tires....keep the offer well under $1k

Since he say it has a 40 above the serial number that would say to me it is a 640 or maybe even a 840 either way it would have a 4 speed transmission. $1200 for a tractor that is locked up is about twice as much as it is worth.

I picked up this 640 a last August Paid $700 for it. A non runner but engine free, with a stuck clutch. But it does have a loader and PS and chains also. Put a clutch in and been using it ever since.
The tractor you are looking at would be too high price in my area

Ya I think were going to pass on this one. Maybe different if he knew how to take pictures and I'm not driving 4 hrs just to look at it. We're going in a few weeks to get a 2n with cultivator and plow anyhow. Pretty soon my mother in law will say no more tractors in her yard!

bad engine and bad tires?

600$

with no engine you can't verify ANYTHING else on the tractgor except tins and scrap metal price.
