Ford 8N w/ Dearborn 19-35 Road Maintainer

Was in the Kingfield Maine Parade last Saturday
with Steve Keenan and this 8N with Dearborn Grader
attachment. It is called a 19-35 Road Maintainer
and the Town of Kingfield bought it new. Steve is
a Kingfield Native and purchased it at a surplus
sale. I've never seen it previously. Are there
others known? He had a great time showing it off as
he followed The Stanley Museum, also of Kingfield,
Maine, 1909 and 1910 Stanley Steam cars in the
parade.

We rebuilt the engine in that at Union Farm Equipment about 15 years ago. It was one of the first jobs done when we moved into our new building. It was quite a pleasure to be able to drive it around but it did require a lot of space to turn it around.

Sure would like to get my hands on one of those. Neighbor and I are the only ones taking care of half mile of private road.

Must have about doubled the population of Kingfield!
Road maintainer made conversions for a verity of different farm tractors. A man had an Allis Chalmers at the Eliot Maine tractor show last year. I've seen them for farmall's and Ford hundred series as well.

Are you saying that the company that did the Maintainer conversions made them for different brands?
I have wondered about that as I have seen a couple of them on ACs but have never had a chance to compare them to a Dearborn - never seen a Dearborn in person.
There is one on a WD up near my land. Have seen it on a couple of occasions sitting on or near a new driveway project. Local contractor must own it and still uses it. Never had a chance to stop and look at it closely.
 
Grandpa Jones has one sitting on his property with 8" trees growing up through it I have tried to buy it a couple of times but he don't want to let it go it will most likely end up like the Farmall A that he parked next to it rusted out beyond repair and a tree will fall on it
