PTO Master safety shroud - PTO adapter to adapt a PTO ORC...

After I went through the Howse rough mower, I went to Tractor Supply and bought an over-run clutch (~$78.00). The previous owner stated that the PTO shaft had been replaced at some point to 1-3/8. I pulled the PTO stub cap off to install it and found a 1-1/8 - 1-3/8 adapter. *sigh*

In the tradition of Arlo Guthrie - rather than pull that one off, I put mine on. Against every shred of common sense, I pinned my new over-run clutch to the adapter. Sloppy? Indeed.

Here's the real question: where can I get a good, quality PTO Master safety shield?

Yeah, even if they don't take it back, its what has to happen. I still want a shield on it, though. Not just for wrap-around protection, but grenade-proofing as well.

if it is the lil sheet metal sleeve that is like 3" long and open on both ends. it's junk. at LEAST get the stub extender that is about 5" long and when installed , dimensionally looks like a 3/8 drive. those hold up a lil better than the steel sleeve

probably easy to take some 1/8 metal and bend and weld on tabs to fit the bolt connections back there for safety if you want it.

You talking one of these things?
I have one around here somewhere. Basically NOS from about a 74 3000. I'm sure it would fit an N.
I'd want big bucks for it as they are pretty rare.

have anything else you plan on running from the pto? might be time to consider a 1 3/8 pto shaft. no need for adapters then unless you find soemthing with a 1 1/8 input. (kind of rare i'm thinking)

not hard to swap out; just the cost of the new shaft. if you do convvert keep hte 1 1/8 i don't think you can find a new one anywhere.
