8N steering box

When changing from the early 8N steering box to the later style box and switching sides with the tie rods the grease fittings on the rear tie rod end is on the bottom. Can you just drill and tap the end to put fitting on top?

changed my 49 to the later box and mine or on the bottom. I just grease them like that you have to turn the wheel to get them in the right place.
